Who: Luna Lovegood and open! Where: Ravenclaw common room When: Today, Friday February 22nd, some time just after classes are over Summary: Luna feels a bit of the winter blues and tries to cheer herself up by doing research about the Ministry
She had been having an interesting time lately. Yes, interesting was a good word to describe Luna at the moment. Unlike many of her classmates, she wasn't too concerned about the end. The end of a legacy, really, of seven years together...eight for some of them. It was really something special. Luna knew she'd always have a place at her father's paper if she was worried about working. But she had bigger and better dreams than sticking with The Quibbler. Yes, she was excited about it, and she certainly loved the idea of someone working with her father from Hogwarts. But it didn't necessarily fit her. She much rather preferred research. Spell creation or research into different magical creatures. That was her specialty, and she already knew it.
With a book about the different Ministry branches in her hands, Luna settled comfortably onto the sofa in front of the fire place of the Ravenclaw common room. She was quite relaxed here, reading by the fire with a warm blanket spread out over her legs. Here she could be exactly who she wanted to be and do whatever she felt like doing. She didn't really have to worry about anything from other students, either if they were moving her belongings around or just being silly. Here she could fight back that small feeling of nervousness or maybe it was sadness that sometimes came with the winter season. At least up north here in Scotland, it was always quite chilly this time of year.
Her head rested lightly in the palm of her hand and she balanced her arm on the side of the sofa. She flipped through the pages, absorbing the descriptive writing easily and mentally taking notes of the different departments that she could apply for come the end of the school.
