Lesley felt perfectly at ease with Tyler too. She wasn't Sadie, who probably knew him better than anyone here, but she was confident that she knew him well enough. He wasn't like the other boys who liked to show off. He was far quieter than the rest yet no less interesting. And her loyalty to him had developed over the course of their friendship. "I won't say it again," she said with a giggle, which probably meant she was lying. She was a terrible liar.
"You and me both." She nodded with a mock serious face and reached out to pick up a pumpkin pasty, offering it to him. "Of course. I said I would, didn't I?" She shook her head and then lowered her voice so that only he could hear. "Besides, I wasn't about to give you up to those Ravenclaws."
