Who: Justin [Solo] When: New Years eve afternoon. Where: Fifth floor corridor near a statue of a knight Summary: The castle has secrets sometimes helpful ones Rating: G
Justin rested his arms on the railing near the staircase on the second floor and looked down to the main floor. He was watching Filtch and his bloody cat patrolling the halls and lurking by the main door. For some reason, probably because it was his idea, it was up to Justin to find a way out of the school so they could all get to Sadie's for the New Years eve party. There was no way they would be able to go the way he did Christmas Eve. Especially since they wouldn't be back before curfew. He had already been all over the seventh floor looking for the Room of Requirement but it never turned up. He realized that he was probably giving off a guilty vibe when first Mrs. Norris and then Filch looked up at him and stared unblinkingly, he decided it was time to move on.
He went up a couple of flights of stairs before getting caught on a moving one, it made him think of Kieran, which in turn made him think about the fact if he didn't figure something out he wouldn't get to see his boyfriend for New Years Eve. Once it stopped he hopped off and turned to walk down the left corridor, maybe he should go back to the seventh floor and beg the Room of Requirement to appear. Just as he turned to go back to the stairs he spotted something hear the end of the hall. As he got closer he saw it was a statue of a knight, it looked similar to one on the main floor that he could swear would move on it's own. This one happened to be placed next to a small alcove that was recessed off the right side of the hallway. It was an alcove with a large fireplace in it, a fireplace so large that took up a wall.
Justin stepped up to the fireplace before taking a step back into the hallway. He looked around before walking up to the fireplace again. How convenient that a fireplace would be hidden at the end of an empty corridor. If only it was connected to the Floo Network and they had access to extra Floo powder, like in the pot that that rested on the mantle. He was careful as he opened the jar, yep, that looked like Floo Powder. Now what were the chances that this fireplace was connected to the Network?
Poking his head out into the hallway Justin looked around again making sure no one else was around. When he was sure the coast was clear he took a pinch of the Powder and leaned forward, sticking his head into the fireplace, he recited Sadie's address and hoped with everything he had in him that this would work. Suddenly he was looking around a room with a long couch and shaggy brown carpeting. He hadn't been to the Capper residence before so he wasn't sure he had the right place until he spotted Sadie entering the room. He called out to her, surprising her with the appearance of his head in her fireplace. It took him only a few moments to explain to her his discovery. They then tested that he could transport his whole body through it, knowing there was a big chance even if it worked one way that he might not be able to get back to Hogwarts. Justin breathed a sigh of relief when he was back in the mysterious alcove. He wondered if it was part of the missing Room of Requirement or if it was different magic. For half a moment he was tempted to visit the Bundy's but decided against it, he was already pushing his luck and he would see Kieran shortly.
Walking backwards out of the alcove, into the hallway Justin stared at the fireplace. "Please be here in a few hours so we can go to the party. Please." He turned and made his way to the Hufflepuff common room as fast as he could without attracting attention, he had to tell everyone he found a solution to their problem.
