It took Ginny a minute to realize what she'd done and she let go of his hand as soon as she did. There hadn't really been anything romantic about the gesture, but she still felt awkward having done it, especially when it was obviously one-sided.
"You'd better not," she joked, trying to cover up how stupid she felt all of a sudden. "I'd hate to have to hex you silly if you went all mature on me." Grinning, she stuck her tongue out at him. Maybe she was trying too hard to make things nice and normal between them, but she didn't know what else to do.
"I can think of a worse fate than getting paid to hang out with George all day, you know," she thought out loud. "Might do that myself. Or maybe Quidditch. I dunno, but Mum'll have a hippogriff if I fail my NEWTs either way.:
