Who: Damon Harper and Astoria Greengrass When: Thursday evening Where: The Tower used for Astronomy these days Summary: Damon asks Astoria an important question. Rating: Low
Thanks to the new moon, Damon was able to pinpoint a lot more stars tonight than usual. The added darkness brought about a renewed clarity in the location of several stars and most could even be seen with the naked eye. He enjoyed these nights most of all as a result. As much as he loved his telescope, a brand new, high-tech, magically enhanced telescope that cost more than probably his own life, he thrived on just being able to see the constellations without the aid of the device.
He was practicing drawing up patterns in the night sky when he heard footsteps behind him. A smile appeared on his face, much as it did whenever the thought of Astoria crossed his mind. Sure, they had been friends for a long time, and even then he had wondered why he was so special as to have her for a friend. Now, he wondered why she would want him for a boyfriend. He wasn't completely abhorrent, but he had to admit that he didn't have very many good qualities either. He just hoped she would figure this out before he ended up hurting her too badly.
Turning to meet her gaze, he reached out a hand for her, eager to feel her close to him. "And when the darkness envelops us like cloaks in the wind, we shall make our own light and fight the darkness with all our might. For if we choose to stop fighting, it is then and only then that the darkness wins and the light is gone."
