Susan had been up in the dormitory; just making sure her part of the room was clean and tidy. She’d let it get a little too far with a mess this time. Clothes strewn about, her books lying all over the place (and sometimes not even on her own side of the room). It had been high time for a good cleaning. Feeling accomplished once finishing her self-imposed task for the night, Susan bounded to the Common Room with a skip in her step.
She entered the common room in time to see Megan mentioning a note from home before shoving it in her trousers pocket. “Ooh, a note from home,” Susan said, plopping down into a chair. “You’re lucky. My Mum can’t send me a note from home without sending ten pounds of food along. Always sweets. It’s a wonder my teeth haven’t rotted.”
