Stiles didn't bother to hide his scowl. He didn't know if Alex talked liked this to people that knew of his ability and he didn't really care because it wouldn't change the fact that he always picked at Stiles' thoughts. "You know, just because you're a telepath doesn't mean you're qualified to psychoanalyze anyone's thoughts. You're also stupid and not good at what you do if you think that I didn't befriend Derek knowing he was weighed down by a shitload of problems." He knew it and he knew it well. His problems were the only reason he and Scott were involved with the supernatural in the first place. He also knew that Derek wouldn't be able to get over his issues easily either. He wasn't over his own mother's death, it was simply easier to go on living with it as time passed and she hadn't even been murdered. But he did think that Derek could get better with time but he was overly stubborn about it.
He ignored the negative assessment of his character, it wasn't the first time Alec had commented on it and it wouldn't be the last. He was also more interested in the favor Alec had in mind. The scowl turned into a look of curiosity. He glanced around the apartment when Alec mentioned a girl being there but he didn't really see a sign of a girl living with him but he supposed that was the point. "Okay, that's fair." Alec was rarely serious and Stiles had his own moments. He could understand him wanting to keep another person safe.
