Hey, Mr Curiosity Who: Devin & Sebastian, with a brief Isaac cameo What: Car trouble When: Tuesday afternoon Where: Beacon Hills High parking lot Warnings: none?
Devin had survived his first day at his new school, but only just. He couldn't help but compare it unfavorably to his old school in pretty much every way. BHHS was all about lacrosse, not the arts. Devin was one of four Indian students at the school, and one of those was his half-sister. As far as he could tell from his classes, the ratio didn't get much better across the board. There was a Hawaiian kid in his math class, judging by the surname, a looming black guy who didn't seem to talk to anyone in his homeroom. And that was about it.
Just about the only saving grace - and the thing that had surprised the hell out of him - was that being gay didn't seem to raise any red flags. He'd heard the Hawaiian kid - Danny? Daniel? Something like that - talking with his friend, a walking talking jock cliche, about the shitty date he'd had with a guy that weekend. And not getting pounded to a pulp for it. So, maybe the school wasn't a total loss.
All in all, he'd been relieved when the final bell had rung and the school had started to empty. Hitching his messenger bag on his shoulder, he headed for the parking lot at a slow saunter. No point in rushing, there'd be gridlock in the parking lot until most of the cars were gone. When he reached the parking lot, he began to reconsider his previous opinion about the school. He had a goddamn flat tire. Cursing under his breath, he crouched down to look at it, tugging out the nail that he must've driven over at some point. Shit. He flung his bag into the car, running both hands through his hair and trying to remember exactly how to change a tire. He wasn't really dressed for it.
