"They all get eaten, and I like to think that's a sign that they are appreciated. So long as they just aren't being thrown away, but I'd also like to think that's not the case." Would be a real shame if that was happening! Starving children and everything, not to mention the fact that Cassandra would have felt bad knowing she was making un-tasty treats and no one would tell her! Cassandra was certainly making her way through the kitchen, trying to learn as much as she could. She thought she remembered her mother cooking a lot, she probably did. She knew Mama Gardner had made some really good apple pie, that memory was forever etched into her mind. And she was working on recreating it. "Well if that's the case, I'll definitely see what I can do about making sure there's some left in here too." Cassandra said with a smile.
He was making really easy to keep that smile plastered on her face. Cassandra tended to be rather awkward when she met people for the first time, but if she was being that way now he was really good at now showing it. Always a plus in her book. Or maybe he was just easy enough to talk to that she wasn't being awkward. If she was smiling before, she was beaming when he said the brownies were good. "Thanks, I have to admit that I sampled one before I came up here and they were... well I thought they were pretty good. But I am biased." Just a wee bit.
One leg curled under her, Cassandra was turned somewhat to the side so she could listen as he spoke. She always had been a good listener, even if now she did have the tendency to ramble when she did talk. Just making up for lost time. "I bet it is a little weird if you haven't been to school in a long time, I bet it's different from a normal high school too huh? I mean aside from the fact that there are all sorts of people you probably haven't imagined existing running around. That part definitely floored me for a while, still does." She truthfully didn't know, well unless real high schools were like Saved By the Bell or Beverly Hill 90210 which she had watched a lot of on television but that was really her only connection.
Cassandra nodded her head slowly. "I understand. It is, well weird probably isn't even the right word, just not quite believable the conversations that I know I've had and I don't even have to go through anything like that. I remember talking about making a blood flavored cake for a vampire and if that's not weird I don't know what is." It was a bit of a sad memory but sweet all at the same time. She did still miss Sarah and Jeremiah but she figured it was better to smile over happy memories than to get all teary eyed again. "So you've had to change before right? Is it scary? I've worried about Ada having to go through that, at least there are lots of other people and the teachers are always out there."
