Jillian took the orange juice and then went on her story, sensing Ita's irritation. She paused only for a second when the air began to condense. She'd almost forgotten that her friend was a water elemental. She finished her story finally, taking a long drink from the juice Ita had given her, before she watched her friend rant with widening eyes. She hadn't known that Ita was going to get this mad about the situation. "Tell you the truth, I don't think he cared. He was probably unhappy that I hadn't hit rocks," she murmured, remembering the bloody handprint he'd left on her ass.
"Don't some animals play with their food, though?" She'd remembered a barn cat playing with a field mouse one day, pawing it through the air before it finally snacked on the poor terrified rodent. Not that she wanted to think of it that way, or make excuses for the were's behaviour. She wasn't a goddamned mouse. "I'm not trying to excuse his behaviour...just understand it. He can't really be a total psycho, right?" she asked, feeling awkward now that Ita was so angry. "He's an asshole, that's for certain."
She winced and then looked down, bouncing her leg a little. "I'm afraid that if I report it, any other student who doesn't like me is going to feel like I'm a rat and they're going to pick on me...I've seen it happen before, and I don't want to seem weak to them," she murmured, biting her lower lip. Shit. This was a mess and she didn't know what to do about it. "I have to show that I can take care of myself because I'm just a human..." she hated saying that, but she really felt like it was the truth.
