Most people Ita hung around did not like the water as much as she did, and many hated rain especially, so she would have assumed Xander did not want to go surfing in the rain, even if she wouldn't have minded (excepting the turning into a puddle bit). More, few people she knew risked the beach when it stormed, and again, she would have thought Xander would, too. But, in the end, none of it matter unless he felt like scooping her into a large container for the ride back so she could dry off at the school.
"It does," she said, still sounding rather pathetic, and pouting a bit. After a moment, she looked up at him, "I'd still like to picnic. We can do an indoor picnic." She was afraid he'd think that rather silly, but she had put all the time and energy into making the picnic - she didn't want it to go to waste. Plus, she really wanted to spend some time with him.
"We could go to one of our rooms and watch a movie or something." Damn, what did guys do anyway when they hung out? If he'd been a girl, she could have kept them busy for hours with makeovers and scrapbooking and gossip. Oh, right, videogames... Not that she was a total idiot about videogames - she just didn't have a console or anything. Putting on her best playful pout, she gave him a hopeful look that read loud and clear, Pleeease?
