Well, he wasn't shouting, that was good. When she had told her mom, there had been a lot of shouting. When she had told Kaori and Taro's parents, there had been shouting. Though that had been followed by their mother saying now Lani was never going to marry Taro, in a rather upset voice to. This kid seemed to have 'give momma guilt' written on her from day one. Maybe no day one, more like month three.
Lani held her a bit closer when he said that though. "I wasn't ready for a kid, let alone you, Starbuck." she said softly. No matter what anyone would tell her, she would always stand by that. No one could tell her she was wrong for wanting him to not have this responsibility. No one. Maybe he was old enough now, but she knew he had not been then.
When he asked that though, she smiled. Looking at Kamea, she pulled her hand out of her mouth. "Hey sweetie, you need to meet someone very important now, so no finger sucking for at least five seconds." Lifting Kamea up, she handed her over to Starbuck, causing the little girl to look up at him with big eyes, wondering who this new person was.
