Kamea had been napping, but Lani Picked her up and set her on her own bed. "Hey there big girl, we're ganna go for a walk, okay?" she said happily, playing with Kamea's toes before changing her daughter out of the outfit she currently had on and into another one. Checking to make sure the little girl did not need another diaper, she looked at her critically. "This is a very important mission, Captain Kamea, are you up to it?"
Tickling the now giggling girl's belly, she picked her up and swung her a bit. At least Kamea was happy. Lani was nothing but nervous about this. It had never been her intention to tell Starbuck about Kamea. After all they had only known each other a few weeks. Still Kai had made her feel like a right bitch, in the way only a mother could. She was hoping that she would develop this strange power. Cause it was definitely a mother trait.
Setting her on her hip, Lani left her dorm and locked the door. Kamea was babbling in baby talk about something, clearly perky after having woken up. Nodding along with whatever her daughter was saying, Lani headed down to the common area. Slowly. Sure if it was not for Kamea, she would be rushing down. She had liked Starbuck, this whole situation was just a bit complicated really. And Lani was never really one for complicated.
Reaching the bottom of the stairs, Lani looked around to catch sight of the punch line. When she caught sight of him, a pang of guilt struck her, but she put on a smile and walked over. "Well, time certainly has been good to you." she said cheerfully as Kamea popping one of her hands into her mouth to suck on while she stared at this new person.
