"That quickly, yeah. Seems to be a trend lately, doesn't it?" he joked with a smile, "But Alix and Richard, her fiance, they've been together for a good few years now. She said she wants to get everything done before her master's classes start in January so that she can enjoy it." It made sense, really. If she waited until her classes began, his sister would never get the chance to really devote herself to the wedding. "Think you might want to be my wedding date?" East grinned.
"I...I think I'm a bit allergic to cartoon DVDs, terribly sorry to ruin that big night you had planned...." Yeah, he'd endure a lot for the people he cared about, but watching Dora the Explorer was not one of those things. He had to draw the line somewhere. "Whatever happened to the classics, anyway? Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? Things like that?" American cartoons back then really had been better than anything England had had to offer.
"Well, at least you know it's possible. Given all the weres running about this place, some of them quite far along, as least you can see where you could be in a few years, that has to be reassuring, you aren't working for nothing." And he'd support her every step of the way, try and help however he could. His adjustment period had been so long ago that he barely remembered the details, but even he knew it hadn't been easy. Sam's had to be even more difficult than his, if there was anything he could to make it easier, he would.
They were discussing things so far in the future that committing to something, either way, seemed rather silly. Still, he was choosing to be optimistic about things between them. "If it's an issue that comes up, we'll deal with it then. I'm simply telling you that I'm not going to check out of this just because I might leave the island." If they were separated someday, then he really would give it his all. They'd just have to wait and see where fate took them. Perhaps it would never be an issue at all.
"I've gotten a fair bit, but managed to take care of most of it. Once they put the lot of us on lockdown during the full moons, there isn't much else to do." Which meant he could stay there with her all day if they so desired - lucky girl.
