If there were ever two people that needed to meet one another, that ran into the exact right person at the exact right time, it was Kenzie and Ezra. Ezra had saved Kenzie. He had taken him from the hell he had previously known and shown him that there could be good things in life. And on that same token, in return, Kenzie had saved Ezra. That much might not be readily evident to someone like Kenzie, but he knew he had made an impact at the very least.
He smiled softly as Ezra began to slip from consciousness, and then to further prove his devotion, he moved from the foot of the bed where he sat up onto the bed beside him. He slid in close to him, curling his body against the other man's own, and allowed himself to drift as well. There would be plenty of time for more clear-headed conversation later on. For now, rest was imperative, for the both of them.
