It seemed suddenly strange that they had never spoken because he felt so close to him. But they hadn't. He had never said so much as a word to him but he had always been willing to express himself even as Rudra. Speaking of, that name he liked, unlike his own which reminded him of her but that was something he could think on more later on. But it seemed downright unnatural to be standing here talking to him, feeling more like he should be on all fours, wrapping himself around Ezra's ankles to show him that he appreciated him, and that he appreciated the way that he was responding to this. He crouched again, but he didn't wrap, or even nudge, at least not yet.
The question was a little strange, or at least by most counts it would be, but he found it quite natural for him to ask it though he thought it strange that he didn't already know by his reaction to it. "It smells strange." He had sniffed it a few times, sneezed a little, and had never gone near it again. He didn't know it, but it was probably treated, most likely with catnip, in order to entice actual cats, but Kenzie didn't care for the smell.
The wince made Kenzie cringe and he scooted a bit closer to Ezra, still crouching down as that felt more natural to him than anything. It wasn't as though Hestia had ever really allowed him to stand upright at all. She was the Master and he was a servant and he could never be higher than she. He had an overwhelming urge to hold him down and lick it clean but even he had sense enough to know that that wouldn't be appropriate even if that was generally what he did any time he himself were injured.
