"That's me," he nodded, transferring his cigarette and lighter into one hand so that he could reach out with the other one and gave her a firm shake of greeting. "I've known people for years who haven't made that decision yet," he added after a moment. Right, so he might have been kidding on that one or maybe not - sometimes with him it was hard to tell. Especially at a time like this when either answer was partially true.
"Doin' a good job so far." Not that she'd been there all that long or anything, but what the hell kind of harm could a compliment do. Plus, he wasn't prone to giving them, so might as well take advantage of his current mood. The magic she'd worked on that mess of a desk alone was worth tossing out a few extra words - he hadn't wanted to touch the thing with a ten foot pole. Then again, shop full of men, you could only expect so much.
"Think I've got another appointment tonight, mind takin a look and tellin me if I've got time to smoke first?" cigarette in hand he pointed towards the scheduling book she'd created. He was almost positive the guy was do in in an hour, but there was no harm in double checking. Besides, he could really use a smoke before parking it for another few hours so hopefully he had the time.
