Of course Knock already knew she was from Boston. But not like he could let on, now could he? “Do you miss it?” He grinned a slightly crooked grin when she went on, the corridor seeming to grow warmer from her excited energy alone. Certainly the smell became sweeter. “Is Innia a term of endearment for someone?” He knew well Innia was what she called her grandmother.
He nodded his understanding about home no longer smelling the same without the young fae girl. “No, I don’t ‘spect it would.” Some of that hard held control on his language slipped slightly. Much as it was habit for him anymore to speak like a gentleman, Kissy was one that preferred the more casual. Knock would do all he could to give her what she liked.
He aimed to please.
“Not sure Halcyon will smell the same either, when you’re gone.”
“Oh really?” He smiled. “I’m taking illusions too.” Imagine that. What a coincidence they’d be taking some of the same classes. He opened his mouth to say more but, what came out was, “Careful of the tail behind you.” Sure enough, a rather slow moving demon was going to trip the graceful fairy up if she didn’t side step. And if she wasn’t quick enough, though Knock was certain she would be, than he’d be there to catch her. Hopefully not at the expense of all her belongings in his arms.
