Kissy's shoes would be totally more pleasing to sip out of than Sergio's. Hello! Possibly smelly and evil demon guy, Kissy totally would doubt he had as excellent hygiene as her. Not to mention her own delightful taste.
Whatever it was that she was thinking about (okay, she was thinking about how she could convince her parents she needed more clothes), Kissy was very interrupted by that. "Wha?" She turned around, smiling, putting her phone down from where it usually was; screen in her direct line of vision. Unless someone was talking to her.
Ironically, that was just the stuff from the tote pocket. See, she had this unbelievably cute tote. It was one side this light grey with back to back cutesy 70's green and blue whales. The face side was like, a dark denim print cotton with this big ole pocket in matching fabric. Kissy was going to remember why she didn't use this old bag more often once she realized that was all the stuff from it.
However, if she had known, she probably still would have used it. It was so nice out. She had on her dark denim skirt with the single kick-pleat and one of her lemon yellow "this shirt is bananas" tee and an adorable super lightweight grey hoodie with cap sleeves, a hood, and lining grey and pink hearts fabric. Her hair had come out of its straightening in such cute spiral curls that she'd just blasted a couple of barrettes in there, some clear lip gloss, and a little eyeliner. Add some chunky wood heels with white leathery wide straps and slingbacks and she thought she looked cuter than ever.
Hence the bag. The cell phone was the straw that broke the camel's back. The poor bag was already crammed to bursting with books, paraphenalia, pens, and assorted miscellany. Wedging her phone in there proved too much. "Oh hey, um..." She had to think for a moment, her eyes widening as she searched for his name. What was it. Whaaaat waaaaas iiiiit? "Harry! Sorry, I like, totally lost my brain."
The bag almost literally popped. Or rather, the bottom seam that had barely been holding on since she was 10 and first got it finally let go in a stream. Books, small notepads with glitter covers, decorative pencil sets, a compact, her cell phone, a mini bottle of nail polish, her lip gloss, her makeup bag, a tiny travel bottle of leave-in-conditioner, a tiny bag of dried and sugared banana chips, a small container of freshly sliced cucumber, a few local menus, a Delia's catalogue, and some other stuff dropped out and spread in a steady wave around her.
Dumbstruck, she just sort of stood there...
staring at her bag. "Oh no!" Her whaley tote! Nooooooo! Just the way the tattered ends fluttered out after the explosion someone let her know it had just lived its last breath!
