"Um. Oh yeah!" Kissy laughed at herself. Brain freeze! She like, got that, but had like...well, she had no excuses for herself. Sometimes your brain just shuts off and you don't have any reason for it. No real reasons, anyway. Kissy had at least two dozen random little reasons, but those were mostly for her teachers.
At least she had a can do attitude.
These non-pareils were good. Man, she was hungry. "I am soooooo hungry!" Kissy announced around sucking on a chocolate. She twisted the bag around and held it out for Knock. One a day was enough for her.
"You wanna go to the caf?" This girl was going to have to cook when she went home. She'd barely cooked since she'd been at Halcyon. She hadn't been shut in for nights on end at Halcyon, either. "Oo! Let me change my shoes!" No more heels!
Kissy kicked them off towards the closet and hopped over the surge of stuff to the bed to dig for some slip on canvas shoes. It was a pink and white spiral pattern. "Dorothea --she's the one with the hairnet-- said they're supposed to have, like, tropical fruit cocktails!" Which meant Kiwi!
Where the hell were they? Half of Kissy's upper body disappeared under her bed from her hanging over the edge and bending over. "Have you seen some pink Vans?" Her voice was a little muffled, but that blessed high pitch did like to carry across all barriers.
