"Got it all out of your system then? I understand that's what college is for." You know if TV was to be trusted. She'd have gone with what her older brothers and sisters had said but she wasn't entirely sure their experiences were the norm. Not to mention her memories of them barely existed. "Were you in one of those Fraternities?" She asked looking over at him with her head tilted. "I'd guess you weren't. Too..." She tugged her lower lip between her teeth as she thought. "Well from what I know, which isn't much I admit, you don't look like the type to want to conform into that whole mess of sameness." Perhaps that was based on way too little, but Cassandra often went with her first impression until it was proved wrong.
Finally Cassandra nodded her head. "Okay, I'll believe you this time. It's probably a good thing I don't have children, I'd mother them to death huh?" She added with a laugh, a slight touch of pink making it's way to her cheeks. She'd been caught being too much of a worry wart. It was probably going to give her gray hair before her time.
Cassandra did her best to not let her mouth fall open, in one of those embarrassing looks of surprise. Just so much schooling and here she was talking to him with only the barest minimum of education. Not that it was her fault... but it was the case nevertheless. "That's amazing. Graduate school on top of college. You have to be proud of that. And now you're here. Though I don't think they give out any degrees or anything. Nothing formal to add on that is." It always amazed her the things people had been able to accomplish before they arrived here at Halcyon. So many things done with their lives. Inspired her at the same time it made her feel completely inadequate.
She was unable to stop the look of surprise from hitting her face this time. Her fork on the way to her mouth paused and made a return trip to the plate. "Oh my.... were you alright?" She asked in reference to his apartment burning down. "There are some other fire demons... well at least part I think here. So hopefully they'll be able to help." Cassandra's head turned back to her plate and the forkful that rested there. "Oh me? The whole namesake... kind of makes me wonder about my mother. Working on not knowing whether or not someone is planning on having cheerios or raisin bran for breakfast tomorrow." She said with a half sort of laugh before looking over at him again. "Just a human with some predicting abilities." And that was that, or something.
