Week Three: April 15th through April 21st Week Three Dates: Monday April 15th through Sunday April 21st Season: Spring 2007 Month: Mid April
Announcements:
The cold weather has definitely started to lighten up, expect warm temperatures all week with only a scattering of rain and only a few days of any real heavy breezes. Take advantage of the warming weather and study outside! Monday the gardens will be set up with various tables, some covered and some not, to make for a relaxing and comfortable study environment for students. The set up and refreshments will be kept late into the night for all students until the late night rain finally convinces staff of the school to break the set up down.
As the nice weather continues however this set up will become a commonly found commodity. If you’re curious if it will be set up on a certain day or not just ask your guide teacher.
Last Tuesday Selene Wagner hosted a women’s gathering in the energies and emotions classroom. The gathering went well and anyone that attended, or even those that didn't, that have questions or concerns please feel free to contact Selene, your guide, or any of the other counselors the school has to offer; Cassius and Dove. All teachers are available all week and can be contacted via journals or emails for appointments.
To celebrate the warming weather many restaurants in the city are opening up their outdoor patios and offering discounts on lunch and dinner items that celebrate the spring theme. These discounts start up Wednesday when the weather gets above 80 degrees.
The wind on Thursday was a little stronger then some students believed it would be! A group got together after sundown to do some studying for their classes. The designated spot was near the gardens under one of the near by trees. However do the rain lately this tree was not on its best footing anymore and the strong wind sent it toppling over. Thankfully no students were heavily injured and the guards on patrol were quickly able to make sure everyone was safe.
Heaven and Hell apparently is seeking to attract more and more patrons this weekend. Admittance, as always, is free and for the weekend, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, all items available for purchase within the club are half off. Drinks, food, clothing, club decorations (glitter, glow sticks), etc. The administration knows many students take advantage of having the club on the island but would like to urge everyone to be careful and know your limits. Also make use of the free cabs that run from the school to the city to ensure you make it back to the school safe and sound.
Also don’t forget that Dance Club Announces a new Season of Dance! Dance club is asking current members and interested parties to join them to prepare for their bi-annual Season of Dance show. This spring, they will put on three performances showcasing the hard work of student choreographers, dancers, lighting crew, and costumers. Members have two weeks to block choreography for submission. Accepted dances will have the opportunity to recruit members to perform in their dances, making a public preview in a sealed meeting to garner interest. No experience needed! Season of Dance is intended for anyone willing to lend a hand, no matter how much or how little they can give. Join now and be a part of an artistic experience that goes back centuries!
Don’t forget the Spring Fling in May along with the annual Class Superlatives. The committee will be accepting nominations in Late April as well as suggestions for new categories. Know someone you think should be named the best of the best (or worst of the worst)? Nominate them!
