Fisher didn't know where spirits moved on to, either. He'd never thought to ask. It seemed really strange- you'd think that, having seen ghosts all his life, he might have been curious about their nature and where they came from, where they lived. But he wasn't. He'd found them to be an inconvenience more than anything.
As Ita collected herself, Fisher handed her a napkin he'd snagged from the cafeteria. Just by looking at her he'd assumed she'd be a crier, and he'd been right. Riden was telling him something, and by the big grin on his face Fisher knew it was somethign to cheer Ita up. But then Streva started chatting as well, and Fisher didn't know who to listen to now. It sounded like he was sitting at a table full of teenage girls- at least, it did in his own head. Poor Ita was sitting in silence.
Suddenly, Fisher burst out laughing. It seemed out of place on his emo-makeup face. "Okay," he said, getting his breath. "Okay. Your mom says she doesn't plan on moving on until you give her some grandchildren. She likes Easton because he looks sweet and his eyes are blue, so your babies will have blue eyes." Fisher gave Ita a moment to process this before adding "Your dad says not to choose Kin, because he looks like a girl." Fisher held up his hands in defense. "Not my words," he assured her. "And he wants to know why you... What was it you said exactly?" He listened to Riden, smiling more and more. "Oh yeah. Why you had to import a boyfriend from Japan, and not look for a good old home boy?" Fisher smiled kindly at Ita. "I really wish you could see the look on his face, I can't tell if he's kidding or not."
Of course if Ita could see her father's face, she would know in an instant he was kidding. Her daddy loved teasing her, and he knew she could take it. After all, he couldn't let her think he approved of the idea of her dating! What kind of daddy would he be?
