Ita did seem to be one of those people who few people could dislike. She was honest, and genuinely liked people and wanted them to like her in return.
Truthfully, she wasn't even thinking about the fact that she was revealing her love life to a stranger. He was her lifeline to her parents, and there wasn't really anything she'd hide from her parents. If her dad asked about Xander, she'd be honest. She knew how precious they were, even more so now, and she couldn't even fathom being dishonest with them.
Well, it wasn't awkward for her. She turned toward him, and wrapped her arms around him, squeezing him warmly, just like she would her mother or father. Or, well, anyone she cared about, to be honest.
"Of course I do! I never take it off." She pulled the necklace out from under her shirtline, and showed it to him. The pretty gold oyster shell contained a small white pearl. "He said I was his little treasure, just like the pearl is the oyster's treasure," she explained. She was so happy now. She could burst. But she did have one question, but not one she could ask, though. She didn't want them thinking about that night.
