His words surprised her, even more so when he explained her mother had said them. But pondering for a moment, she considered that her mother had often been a quiet woman. Beautiful, loving, and quietly graceful. Ita was more like her father.
Ita smiled widely when he said they were proud. It was probably the greatest thing he could have said from her parents. Even so, a few tears squeezed out - cuz she was so happy. "Oh, tell her not to be sad! I'm happy, really. She shouldn't be sad for me. If she is..." She hoped her mom was happy. As happy as she could be, having her life stolen from her, anyway. After a pause, Ita shook off the bitter taste she had concerning Fisher. Reaching out a hand to touch his shoulder, she offered softly, "I'm glad you did."
Chuckling, Ita had to blush. Her daddy always did try to scare the boys she liked. But it was in good fun. And if a boy couldn't take the ribbing, he wasn't worth her time. "Oh, well, there are a couple guys I like. There's this guy, Easton, but I don't think he sees me like that. And there's Kin, who's very sweet. I really like him." She didn't mention Xander - he was just a friend she liked to fool around with. She certainly hoped her parents hadn't been watching her that closely. That was kind of awkward. Suddenly, because she didn't know how long it would last, and she didn't want to miss her chance, she blurted, "Tell them I love them, and miss them. Please."
