Even if his secret hadn't been previously found out, he had no plans to continue this charade beyond their conversation. Lily had been beyond upset with him, upon discovering that he was employed with the school, as had Veru. Well, Veru was not won over, as Lily had been. Honestly, it was quite amazing what a few gifts, and a proper fucking could do to sway the minds of the young. No, she may not trust him completely, but she wished to, and he would gladly help her along into doing so... so long as he continued to benefit from it. It was for this reason, that he did not have many male children. They were not as easily seduced. They always seemed more comfortable with holding a grudge, rather than forgiving. All the while forgetting what he had given them.
A small dismissive laugh was given then, as his head inclined down. "That word again, really... You must have been speaking to Miss Wagner. She was so quick to judge the feeble memories of a foolish child, than to discover the truth..." No, he couldn't insult him in such a way, not when he knew that the man wasn't going to buy any of his bullshit for a moment. Looking to him, he nodded, "Forgive me. You, more than anyone are aware of what happened. She is your childe, after all." His arrogance, and pride were difficult things to push aside, even now. "You will also know that she was... more than willing, and once I discovered who she was, I left her be... As for why she can not remember, I felt it would be best, to save her the embarrassment of facing me every day in class." Oh yes, trying to safe his own ass had nothing to do with it. Sure. He obviously didn't know Vivian very well either, to think that would give her reason to be embarrassed.
"You are no saint either, mon fils... Women, they can bring out the blackest demon in the holiest of men. Especially when they do not act as you wish them to... or go against you completely. God gifted Adam with Eve, yet, she turned out to be his curse. They are mans curse, and always will be." He brought his hands together. His expression reading along the lines of 'it is how it is'. "Yet, I can not deny the pride that I feel. Knowing that you fear nothing, that you do whatever is needed. Though, I am curious of this place. You, I did not expect to find here." Vallis didn't honestly think he would be receiving the explanation he felt he needed. "You know who I am, mon fils. Forgive me for not giving you my proper name so many years ago, but I had just killed several of your country men, and did not wish to be sought after for it." Having just come out of hiding, he had been hungry. Tired, dying solider's were an easy meal.
