Monday Just in case any students missed Mr. Venizelos's post in his journal a Art Exhibition for student artist will be held close to the end of term. The event will be held at the Lux Hotel and will be catered, it sounds like it will be quite the event. Do remember art students in his class, this is extra credit for you.
Sign up sheets will be located on the outside of his office and classroom doors. Or if you can see him at his shop Gun Smoke Tattoo. All of the artist at Halcyon are urged to check out this great opportunity to get their work out there and all are welcome to come and enjoy the show
Monday The Loft and Pit will be hosting live bands this weekend. If any Halcyon Students involved in a band want to get a great chance to get their music out there, this is it! Time slots will be going quickly so make sure to get to the club early and reserve a time if interested.
The manager will be at the club and available to speak to every night from 6pm to close.
Wednesday Today in 1899 A.T. Marshall of Brockton, Massachuesetts, patented the refrigerator. An invention we all can’t seem to live without now!
Saturday Starting from 4pm to close The Loft and the Pit will be hosting live music. Bands will have free reign on musical choices and songs. Half price drinks for all patrons displaying a Halcyon Halls Student ID and half priced food! Remember, you must be at least sixteen to enter. The club will be packed so make sure to get in early if you’re looking to snag up a booth or get in close to the stages.
Sunday Today is International Youth Day (IYD) is an awareness day designated by the United Nations. The first IYD was on 12 August 2000. It is meant as an opportunity for governments and others to draw attention to youth issues worldwide. Concerts, workshops, cultural events, and meetings involving national and local government officials and youth organizations take place around the world in honor of International Youth Day.
To celebrate the island Library will be hosting a job fair decided to give show youths on the island that their job oppurtunities go far beyond just retail stores and restauraunts. Also all throughout the city there will be booths and activities directed to make the day an enjoyable and productive day for everyone involved! They day will be ended with a small concert and play put on by the local day cares in the city.
