Noticing that he slipped a little when she spoke, she couldn’t help but quirk an eyebrow. “Not expecting me to show?” She laughed slightly. “Sorry if I startled you. Guess I’m stealthier than I thought.” Kim wiped her bangs out of the way and tucked them behind her right ear. “Yeah, I guess it does feel pretty good. Kinda refreshing.” She thought she understood what he meant, but maybe she didn’t. A few days after arriving at the school, she realized that this whole “tied to an element” thing was kinda proving to be true. She preferred being hot over cold, sunshine over rain, but it didn’t mean she couldn’t appreciate the opposing force from time to time.
She listened intently to the rules that he started to lay down, looking over at the landmarks that served as end zones when he pointed at them. When he was done, both her brows were up in slight surprise as she nodded. “Wow, seems like you had all this thought out already. And yeah, that’s fine with me. If it was two on two or more, we’d definitely need some more yardage.”
“I understand. I hate being cooped up inside although I guess being outside when it rains is more of an option now.” Kim normally stayed inside when it rained unless she had to play a sport or practice in it. She associated the rain with being cold and she did not like being cold. This was fine though. It was warm out even though it had been raining all day. “Yeah, I’ve just got one rule. Don’t go easy on me just cuz I’m a girl. Yeah, I’m tiny, but I can handle myself. My blood helps with that. Oh.. and just watch it with the hits above the waist with me and I’ll be careful with the waist below for you, ok?”
