"Thank you," she said again while fiddling with the hem of her skirt. Alice was a bit nervous as they rode along towards the beach. As casual as she wanted to make things seem, the whole idea of sitting on a beach and watching the sunset was a bit romantic for two friends to do. The fact that the other friend was a guy, an incubus at that, only made it worse. She could even start to feel a small amount of fluttering going on in her tummy and while it could be easily mistaken for hunger, she knew it was more than just that. She hadn't felt this nervous since her last piano recital and that was when she was thirteen. This was probably the closest thing to a date for Alice, and while she wouldn't admit it to herself, she did her best to stay calm. We're just friends and we're just hanging out. Nothing to get yourself all worked up for.
"Well, not that much. My parents shipped a few boxes of sake with all my other stuff and I we drank some of that." Alice still wasn't sure what the legal drinking age was on this island. Not like she drank that often anyway. She just liked keeping a few bottles of sake on hand for special occasions. "It was really fun. Did a bunch of girl stuff. Dressed Shoko up in some of my clothes. She looked really cute. Not sure why she doesn't dress like that more often," she said with a shrug. Alice thought Shoko was one of the cutest girls ever and was glad they were able to become friends.
"And don't worry. I got enough sleep. We weren't up too late." It really would be embarrassing if Alice were to fall asleep on Xander, but she'd probably be just as embarrassed. Alice usually slept in pretty awkward positions. "Oh I brought a bottle of sake with me as well just in case. I've never had scotch or wine so I can't say whether or not I like it. Beer is alright though." Alice looked over at Xander and offered him a cheery smile. She really didn't know just what kind of trouble she was getting herself into.
