Five minutes wasn't that late in Alice's book, but she wasn't really counting either. She was still busy tapping away at the handheld even when the truck drove up. She didn't even realize it was Xander until he hopped out and she heard his voice. If he hadn't spoken up, she probably would've just figure it was someone else and kept on gaming happily.
"Thank you," she said and carefully placed the electronic back into her bag. Normally the term 'babe' was used between couples and it was a little weird being called that, but Alice knew some people liked to use it with their friends as well. Xander was one of those people and she'd just have to get used to it. She brushed the skirt of her dress out as she stood from the bench and helped load up the truck. "Well I hope you like it. I woke up early after a night of partying just so I could go into town to do some shopping. You don't mind if the meat is a little rare right?" And if Xander didn't like it, there would be more food for Alice. The girl really knew how to it even if it didn't show.
Now that the truck was loaded, Alice didn't waste any time hopping into the front just so she wouldn't have to make Xander worry about being a gentleman and opening the door for her.
