It took a second to figure out what Vivian was talking about. "I was going more along the lines of Turtle but I suppose that works." Max was a car guy and wax was something that was used to keep them new and shiny. So that's where he had been headed with that one. Guess that just went to show how differently the male and female minds tended to work. Turtle wax, Brazilian wax, whatever got the point across.
Max really wasn't counting Faes in that group but he supposed that technically he should. They were just so breakable and zipping between clouds wouldn't be nearly as entertaining if he was worrying that something might harm them. One accidental branch to the face and it would be over. "Maybe I'll have to check it out." He didn't exactly need a class on flying since he had been doing it since before he could walk, but maybe just to find others he could head off with if anything.
Looking puzzled for a moment, he just stared at her as she gave the reasoning behind her compliment. "Well, uh, thanks I guess." If his hands had been free he would have reached up to scratch the back of his head but he didn't think that she would enjoy falling a few hundred feet so he refrained. "I take it you've been around a lot of guys who don't share my outlook." Don't get him wrong, he could appreciate the opposite sex like any other guy but it wasn't his main goal in life to bag as many as he possibly could.
The last thing Max wanted was for Vivian to turn into an icicle so he figured he should check. "The fog seems to be hugging the water anyway so I'll take us down." It was a few feet thick and definitely dense. Being the shadow demon that he was, he was naturally drawn toward the darkness. "Hang on." With that serving as the only warning, he bent at the waist and dove down toward the water head first. The speed was intense, probably even more so for someone who wasn't used to it. With the surface rapidly approaching, he didn't seem the least bit concerned and pulled up with just enough time for his feet to skim the top of the fog.
"Didn't scare you too badly, did I?" he asked with the hint of a smirk.
