All the pictures... it touched a part of Cassandra's heart that she hadn't known still existed. That part of her that cared about her family and what they thought of her. She'd spent years trying to make that part silent, so that it didn't have the capacity to hurt her anymore. It never really did work, but seeing these photos and knowing that Ada had kept them for all those years... it warmed that part of her heart and Cassandra knew she'd never forget it. She'd cherish that fact as long as she lived. "Thank you Ada, I really can't thank you enough for all of these." One look at her room and it was clear she didn't have anything of her own. These pictures would definitely fill that hole.
Life wasn't fair. That much Cassandra knew. Ada's childhood hadn't been easy, so many other students here had had hard times. None of that made it okay, it unfortunately just made it the way of the world. Cassandra could just look at Ada and wonder at how much the change in her life affected her passions, her singing... would it be the same? Would the moon affect what she could and couldn't do? She didn't have the answers but she hoped to God that it didn't. Ada didn't deserve that.
It was the natural response and Cassandra was doing everything in her power to let those responses happen. So far she'd been lucky, she knew that it was probably bound to run out sooner rather than later but she couldn't help pushing the boundaries. Especially when her sister gave her the greatest gift she could ever imagine. "I really can't thank you enough for it. I'll treasure it forever." She said as she finished giving Ada her best impression of a bear hug. Stepping back, Cassandra gave her slightly damp eyes a good wiping. "Though this does put my gift to you to shame!" She said with a laugh as she pointed to the basket she'd readied which held the t-shirt she'd bought for Ada.
