Gundam Wing Darkfic

In the year After Colony 195, an act of terrorism known covertly as Operation Meteor never happened. Trowa Barton, son of Dekim Barton, aide to the late Heero Yuy, discovered the change in plans that Doktor S (and, separately, the other Gundam scientists) had in mind. When Trowa Barton protested these plans, Doktor S's assistant shot the man, but Trowa did not die. He lived to tell his father, Dekim, of the proposed changes. Dekim Barton then delayed the mission in order to attempt to get the mad scientists to implement the original plan. Thus, Operation Meteor would not happen until AC 200, on the 25th anniversary of the assassination of the politician Heero Yuy. The year is After Colony 200. Shooting stars are landing on Earth. Princess Playground is an AU Gundam Wing RP in which Operation Meteor happens in AC 200 instead of AC 195. 10 years have passed since the end of the series. The world has once again sunk into depths of violence. An attack by waiters at the president's masquerade ball that was to commemorate the decade of peace since the war resulted in the president's resignation and a new threat to our heroes. The second masquerade, celebrating Treize and Dorothy's wedding, saw an assassination attempt on Treize, running for president. With the cast still reconnecting after a decade apart, can they come together in time to stop more violence? One Mask For Another is a laid back forum RP. 10 years have passed since the end of the series. The current president is holding a ball, a masquerade at the insistence of his wife, to commemorate the tenth anniversary. The Who's Who of society and politics have been invited as have those involved in the war a decade ago. For most of the cast, this is a reunion and a chance to catch up perhaps. What has happened to the characters in the decade that has passed? One Mask For Another is a laid back forum RP. We are looking for players who can post on average once a day (or at least 5-6 days out of the week) with most posts being longer than a sentence or two. Oooh, almost 20 members! Wooties! Sorry I don't have a morbidly depressing GW fic to post at the moment, but as soon as I get this morbidly depressing Gravi fic done I should have something. In the meantime, there are a couple of things of interest:

1.  motley_sis has posted some absolutely brilliant GW drabbles of various pairings here. I don't think she'll mind me pimping her. Anyway, they're not dark but they're must-reads. You're all familiar with the quality of her writing, so you know what I'm talking about. Now go, go!

2.  dourmetal has started two GW rating comms over on LJ: gw_rating and gwcolonyrate. *goes now to find out what space station I'm most like--I hope it's Libra*

If I remember right, I was going to end this with the first part having been a nightmare, but I never got that far, and I don't feel like writing it in. Hee! If you hate the ending (and you probably will), write a new one for me. No, really. Think of it as... a round robin of sorts! Heh!

EDIT: Actually, now that I think about it, I started this for the challenge at gw_dark ages ago about... post-war badness. Like, the pilots not being able to cope with peace, I think? *ponders* Hm. Anyway...

Okey dokey, we've got our ducks fic challenges in a row. Wooties!

For the month of October, the challenge is to write a Halloween-ish story about Poltergeists, hauntings, or just generally scare the crap out of a character with something invisible or supernatural. Thank you, motley_sis!

For November, the challenge is to write a realistic despair/psychological fist in the face + smut + hatesex, not-feminized-but-definitely-not-consensual sex, torture, a PTSD theme, drug/alcohol/casual sex, homelessness/abject poverty/having no options left, or a the-world-was-better-at-war kinda thing. I don't think that could possibly be more clear. Hee! Since lots of people are probably doing NaNoWriMo in November, I think we should just give people the whole month to write a fic so they won't feel pressured too muchly. Thank you, leftminds!

For December, the challenge is to write about a Winter holiday involving complications like poisoned cookies, evil!Santas, sharp dreidels, electrocution by holiday lights or murdering snowmen from hell. You know, a typical Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa/etc. Thank you, theoriginal_ist!

If anyone has any ideas for challenges after that, it's never too early to suggest them. Gives people more time to write something. *nodulations*

Thankies to everyone who participated in the autocannibalism challenge a few weeks ago, either by writing a fic or by reading and commenting on someone else's, since the comments in this comm tend to slay me srsly. Hee!

There's still a week and a half until Halloween so we ought to take advantage of it and post another challenge, especially since this may be the last chance for a month with NaNo coming up. Everyone will be writing for that and ignoring this comm. Waaaaaaah!

So can anyone think of a good challenge? *makes someone come up with a good banner for the best challenge idea*

And don't forget, the icontest is still going on! I think Halloween is the cutoff for that, but you have until then to come up with a cool avatar for the comm. If no more are submitted, I think we'll just rotate the ones we have now every month or so. Sound good?
