Alicia squealed as she was lifted off the ground, and she held her arms around his next firmly as they hugged. She enjoyed being around Jack, just because of how fun he was, or they were together. He was a genuinely good, nice guy. Things could have easily happened between them, but other than a few accidental drunken snogs here and there throughout the years of their friendship, nothing else had ever happened. They had had their fair share of partners, girlfriends and boyfriends, but they had always remained friends. There was always that thought, 'what if', or if something would happen later in life, but Alicia never let it get in the way of their very good friendship.
"That's brilliant!" she said happily, pulling away just to leave her hands on his shoulders as they spoke. "I'm so excited for you! A new job is always so exciting, and moving out is great!" She was genuinely happy for Jack, knowing how libirating living away from her parents was. She had been living in her own flat for two years now, and it was amazing. She could come and go as she pleases, what time she wanted or whenever she wanted to.
Alicia laughed. "Mixed drink sounds fabulous! Cranberry and vodka would be nice." She flipped her hair over her shoulder, she glanced over at the bar then back at her friend. "Oh, I heard! I was talking to him over the journals, we were going to meet for lunch at the Leaky, but he said he was probably coming!" She laughed. "Oh, I think I can handle this one time! And it can still be footsie and snogging, right? We can add Stephen!" She laughed again, shaking her head.
