Jack was a third of the way done with his beer whenever he saw the front door open and Alicia emerge. Grinning, he stood up and weaved through a couple tables, wrapping his arms around her waist and hoisting her off the ground in a hug. She smelled clean, she smelled like Alicia. Jack pressed his lips to her cheek and then set her back on the ground, through he didn't pull his hands away from her right yet.
"I've been doing brilliant, mate," Jack smiled wide and then continued, "And thanks, I'm so excited to move out of my parents attic, this is the greatest thing that's happened to me yet. And now this job, this is going to be awesome. Here, come on--" He picked up his ale and headed over to the bar, "Let me buy you a drink, we're celebrating!" He motioned for Rosmerta, who was making a mixed drink for an older lady at the other end of the bar.
"What can I get you? An ale? A short? Liquor? Mixed drink?" Jack sounded like the typical bartender, and he tried to shake off that persona. Combing her hair out of his eyes and taking another gulp of beer, he set the mug down and grinned at his friend, "Stephen might join us, if you don't mind. I know, I know, I wish this could just be a little intimidate date with footsie and snogging, but I need to get Stephen to sign lease papers."
