Once I'd finished writing it and I realized that I'd misremembered/added "prequel" to your prompt, I had a panicky moment, I'll admit! (And now I kind of want to write another in this 'verse with adult Harry and Hermione interacting and how the reason Hermione can't stop her affair with James is because it gives her what-might-have-been with Harry, but ahhh no time for that right now. But ahhh the bunny. <3)

My inner H/Hr shipper totally agrees with you that Harry so wanted to go for it there. I debated a lot about this, but in the end decided to stick as close to canon as possible, since in the future of this fic, the epilogue does happen, etc., etc. But it was hard. I might need to write some happy H/Hr after this, lol!
