I love the image of Roman being able to erase anything dark or shameful with his smile, and anyone who's ever seen him smile will know exactly how true that is. And I really like the bit about Deniz thinking everything's temporary... what with his family history and the recent several uprootings, it makes a lot of sense and is a very IC perspective that I hadn't actually considered but I think you're definitely onto something there.
