Draco glanced up from the window, one brow lifted as he heard his wife coming up the stairs to the library's upper section. He nodded his head, already knowing the question she was going to ask. "Yeah," he muttered, a touch grumpily. "I took a fly around the grounds that direction, caught a glimpse at it. Definitely a hippogriff. I already talked to Phoque about keeping a good eye on his harem. If that thing prefers fish, god knows if it would try to go for one of the pups."
He extended a hand to Hermione and shifted his legs so she could snuggle up beside him. It wasn't her fault that he hated those great hairy birds and he didn't want her to think he was going to take it out on her. He'd mentally promised himself to find one for her if it was anywhere near their estate, but he'd really been hoping that was one promise he'd never have to follow through on. Now he was coming hard up against it and he didn't like that, not in the least. "Looked smaller than what I remember," he said. "Could be due to not being thirteen and rolling around with a sodding big slash in my arm, but I think it actually is smaller. Maybe female."
