Hermione shivered. She loved having her hair and neck touched. She blushed like a school girl and suppressed a snort aimed at her own silliness. "Right, then. Let's see if it works this time." There a more welcoming feel to the magic this time as she reached for the pendant. "Not English," she whispered to herself. "Not French." Detecting language was tricky. In most cases, when she worked in something other than Latin, she relied on intent and her wand to focus. Here, she was fairly certain she shouldn't use her wand.
She hovered over the necklace for another moment before speaking, "Askatu." The pendant popped free, dropping into her hand. "Basque. Possibly Aquitanian as old as it feels. But Basque worked." Hermione stood with the necklace in hand. She was feeling rather pleased with herself. She always did enjoy a magical challenge.
