He could only imagine what this old lady looked like, and laughed at the thought. Then when she started to talk about Greek Mythology he was lost, not that she wasn’t making sense, it made perfect sense, but he knew almost nothing about the topic save for the Disney animated film Hercules, and Jason and the Argonauts. Then there were weird journals? He didn’t follow at all... he wasn’t even sure who Athena was. Embarrassed that he could not carry on the topic he kept his mouth shut and just nodded knowledgably. Sure their meeting was strange, but he didn’t relate it to anything like the experience she was describing. He figured it was one of those ‘magical’ meetings that only happen in the movies.
He smiled at the thought. After today they wouldn’t meet for another few years, but in those years that had passed they would have thought about each other everyday. But this wasn’t a movie this was life. Since he would be here for a few months he saw no reason they couldn’t meet up.
Then she pulled out a ring, one that he recognized immediately. “Wow.” Was all he could say. His eyes widened when she started to tell him the story of how he found it. “That’s strange indeed…” He didn’t know what to say. All of a sudden excitement rushed over him.
“You know I have a ring like this, I got it for my Bar Mitzvah from my dad. I think he got it from a wealthy client or something...” He shrugged. “It’s weird…” His voice started to trail off; he was in between talking to himself and her. “I don’t have it with me… it’s at my dads.” He hadn’t looked at it but more than a couple times, like all the presents from his dad it sat on a shelf never to be acknowledged.
