Why did Cordelia suddenly feel both jealous and angry regarding a woman she had never met about a man she had just met? That was certainly odd for her, and it was not as if Cordelia had not been the victim of unrequited love before as well.
"That kind of love we were just speaking of has to go both ways, though, that is the point," she was sounding defensive again, as well as suddenly bitter, "Otherwise I would have used this professor of mine as an example, but I figured that didn't count because he was just using me for his own amusement."
And then she suddenly switched the subject, "Please tell me you live here. I need you here, you know that..."
She quickly caught herself after she said that. It was that same thought flow that had nothing to do with herself as Cordelia --as if she was drawing from memories that were not her own.
"I..mean, well," she laughed sheepishly, "It's good to find someone here who speaks English, let alone that I can have this sort of discussion with."
