Usually this kind of conversation, well, at least one when a man was trying to get her to understand love, frustrated her. She always felt as if those men were trying to take on the role of the 'hero' within her life. But with him, it was as if he truly meant what he was saying. She felt as though this conversation had been had before; back when it was still new enough to not have any ulterior motive. Cordelia could only feel tenderness towards him.
"And that's just it," Cordelia's voice suddenly seemed to catch onto that excitement, "Nobody ever loves like they used to love nowadays. Or, how they love in books. I have always told myself that when I do love and am loved in return, it would be like a sweeping epic of a romance. No, not something silly that fades with time, but a love the stories could be written about. A love so powerful, that the two involved never question the other, and will wait even hundreds of years for the other one."
She finally stood up from behind the desk and walked over to him. For some reason, she felt like she had missed him.
"Love can have reason and not be false, but only if the two are willing to withstand even the worst of tests."
