RP: A Rather Late Dinner Date:5/1/00 Characters: Remus Lupin, Harry Evans, Sirius Black Location: The Lupin-Black rowhouse in London Warnings: Swearing seems probable Public/Private: Mostly private? Summary: Remus and Sirius have their "nephew" Harry over for a very late dinner and some man-talk, mostly about the Class. Status: In Progress
Remus was always thrilled for company. He loved to cook and play host. It was a way to show people you cared, to nurture, and at heart, Remus was a nurturer. He'd gotten home from the bookstore several hours ago, and had immediately started on a rather elaborate dinner for Harry and Sirius, the kind of thing with lots of leftovers, meaning that he could sent plenty home with Harry and that he and Sirius could have a couple days worth of lunches. He'd decided on roast beef, and after several hours at a low heat in the oven, the whole house smelled deliciously of cooking beef and onions. He was just finishing the last loaf of bread, and was going to trade that out for a pie in a moment. There was also diced potatoes tossed in olive oil and rosemary, as well as a few other herbs, shortly to go into the oven to bake until they were nice and crispy.
There would be coffee for later, and sweetcream for the pie, and a corn casserole/souffle thing. If anyone was willing to eat any time in the next twelve hours after leaving his table, it wouldn't be for a lack of food. Remus was confident of that. He finally ran upstairs to wash up, coming back down just in time to start the potatoes. He was expecting Harry any minute, and Sirius possibly a bit later, depending on how things went at the Happy Hippogriff. He worked on setting the table as he waited to hear a knock at the door... or more likely, scent Harry on the draft under the door before he hit the stoop.
