If he was a human, Lucy would have lied and found a quick out. She was generally more honest though, with those of her own kind. For whatever reason she didn't find it quite as much fun She always felt bad lying to a fellow wolf, even if the wolf seemed very tame. Almost like... a poodle!
But she wasn't going to admit that she couldn't read. That was just embarrassing. She was grown-ish, and people above the age of five knew how to read. She looked at her feet for a moment, and then glanced toward the door. "I should just go home," she said, voice quieter than before. "Don't want to be a bother. I'm sure you have... stuff to do."
