Gellert ventured out of his office at least three times a day. It was a tactic to seem assessable and even friendly. Maybe it was one of his greatest tricks to those around him, looking as though he didn't mind mingling with those below him. After finishing his work for the day, he left the office to get a fresh cup of coffee - which he had to admit was stale and ghastly compared to coffee elsewhere - to start on the next day's work. Or something new that had appeared on his desk in his absence. That happened often, important documents and papers to read over or sign just to be there when he returned from one of his jaunts out of his office. Not that there wasn't plenty of papers to look over that couldn't be finished in a day or even soon. An undercover mission, two murders on the lose, and even had his own thoughts of when was appropriate to contact Mr. Tepelus. He wanted the vampire to wait it out, to toy with him a bit.
As he headed back to his office, he sipped at the coffee and suppressed making a face of disgust. Perhaps he should look into getting better office, at least for this department alone. Or maybe invest in a personal coffee machine in his office. But his office looked much like everyone else's, normal and routine, with nothing to set it apart. It was the way he liked it. He pretended to place himself on everyone else's level and it was easier for them to follow him that way, easier for them to trust him if they are ever called in for a discussion. After swallowing the mud, he sighed heavily and passed one of his employee's desk that were set on the outside of the offices. "Hello, Mr. Nott," he greeted the young man.
