Cormac looked back at her questioningly. He nodded, a small smile on his face. "It's okay. I get it you were scared, but... I'm an arrogant prick. I'm always going to be an arrogant prick and you know that about me," he said, meaning it. "But that doesn't mean I want to end up not having my best friend. I'd go crazy without you. Think of all the horrible things I'd get into without having to know I'd have to tell you about it after."
He pulled back at her touch. He hadn't meant to, but he really didn't want her to touch him right now despite it all. With a frown, he said, "She's not into women. Trust me. Or if she is, she's bisexual." He paused, tilting his head at her for a moment. He wasn't sure how to response to that. It was a bit ironic and amusing... in a dark way. "Well, she was having fun up until the point she found out I didn't tell her I was engaged. Get this... she said that if I'd told her before, with the whole arrangement and all that, she would have made an exception. She said that. But she won't know, simply because I hadn't found the time to tell her.. or whatever it was that stopped me from telling her."
