Katie was truly surprised when he came over and sat down beside her. Of course, not nearly as surprised when he suddenly hugged her, being quite gentle she noticed. They had just been screaming at each other only moments ago. The last thing she expected was for him to hug her, even if she was crying. She believed him when he said it was over with them. Cormac could be stubborn, she didn't like the idea of being on his bad side because she didn't know if there would be a way to go back around to where they were. She wouldn't push him away. For him to actually hug her when he was so upset with her said volumes of his caring for her. Maybe he had just been angry when he spoke of them not being friends.
She leaned into the hug when he told her not to cry. Despite everything she managed a small laugh when he spoke of her first time under the bleachers with the Ravenclaw girl. "We had a bet on the results of the match. I just wanted to collect. She liked it and I do owe you greatly for that. You always look out for me, Cormac. I do appreciate it. I want to make this up to you."
