Re: Later in the evening
Demelza rolled her eyes. "Well, then I can understand not coming. If you see it all as teasing. Not everyone does. It's a show. A fantasy. It's fun," she said, sincerely. She didn't think she had to defend the strip club, people who go, or even herself, but she still didn't want to be called a tease like Katie did. Right to her face. It was cold, considering. "The people who come are the people who are willing to pay to see the show and live the fantasy, like people who go to plays or concerts. It may be a lot more sexually charged, but it's the same thing and everyone knows it. And those who don't--" She pointed back to the bounced. "Mike and his buddies take care of them for us."
"Sorry? For what? Katie, anyone can take off their clothes and most people can dance. It takes skill to write. There's a difference," she said, getting the feeling that Katie thought she was upset over her job. She wasn't ashamed. In fact, she was proud sometimes. She hadn't hesitated to tell Zach and even tell him to come by. She had no reason to be ashamed. This wasn't how she'd like someone she actually liked to find out, but it's what happened.
