Re: Later in the evening
A part of Katie was surprised when the Bouncer actually called for Demelza. Did they normally allow guests to just request a dancer to come and meet them? Maybe it helped that she was a woman. Either way, she was glad that Demelza was called and she wasn't turned away with shame.
At least not yet. There was no promise that Demelza wouldn't have turned her away. When the woman came out and immediately demanded why she was there, Katie felt her heart sink and she felt that uncertainty creep up even more.
She couldn't reply immediately and thankfully, the bouncer had spoken up, not really giving her room to. She stepped to the side with the woman, happy she didn't have to answer that question exactly. What was she doing there? What was she doing at this door? This was nuts! "Don't worry, I didn't stalk you here or anything," she replied, wanting to make that clear. She didn't want Demelza mistaking her for a creeper. "I came here with a friend and we just...happened to see you...Why didn't you tell me? You didn't owe me anything. We weren't anything, we just hung out. I just don't get why the secrecy."
