Re: Later in the evening
Demelza made a face in the mirror as she grabbed a change of clothes from her locker. She grabbed another costume and started to pull the tiny, skin tight over her head. She had a few more hours before she could leave. She had to make the status quo for tonight to make rent. Lately, she'd been lax with staying and the private dances for guys.
When the bouncer stuck his head in the back and called her name, she looked at him like she was crazy. "I'm not up!" she yelled back.
He shook his head at her and said something about someone wanting to talk to her. She frowned. She hated it when guys decided to 'get to know her better'. It was stupid. But with the bouncer, she knew she'd be fine. She slipped her feet into some heels that matched her dress and strode out. When she stepped out, she blinked when she saw Katie. "What are you doing here?" she demanded, mostly because she was simply caught off guard.
The bouncer looked at her. "Do you want me to get rid of her, Dem?" he asked, his tone rather friendly despite the threat behind his words.
She shook her head. "No, no. It's..." She stepped forward, gesturing for Katie to follow her off to the side away from his prying ears. There wasn't much privacy in the club, but she'd take what she could get. "Sorry about that. Hey." She paused. "So, uh... what's going on?" Her voice was less surprised and demanding now, as she tried to get over her surprise and speak rationally.
